Hello,

Shakespeare in Hamlet said, “When sorrow comes, they come not in single spies but in battalions.” Have you noticed it? For a while everything goes along pleasantly & then suddenly the whole world tumbles around our ears. Troubles have an uncanny way of coming together.

Many Christians are constantly beset with overwhelming challenges, sicknesses, defeated lives, family struggle, financial trouble and endless crisis that come one after another. There’s seems to have no way out no matter what you have tried. Sometimes it makes you wonder whether Isaiah 54:17, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper”, is true.

Isaiah 54:14 stated that, “In righteousness you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near you.” Well, this promise comes with a condition — “In righteousness you shall be established”. When you are established in righteousness, you will be far from oppression and terror, and not a single weapon formed against you will prosper!

This condition is not hard to meet. For a start, you already have righteousness! When you received Jesus as your Savior, you received the gift of righteousness which enables you to reign in life (Romans 5:17). This righteousness does not come from you but from God (Isaiah 54:17). And when you are established in His righteousness, no weapon formed against you will prosper. Question: Am I living righteously?

A friend, Pastor Farad of Egypt, once said to me, “I was born to make mistakes. Not fake perfection.” That’s right. We just need to put our life “right before God” in order to be righteous. We just have to be honest, remove the mask on our face and repent of our wrong doing, and God will never break His covenant with us (Judges 2:1). Once this is established, you are on your way to victory.

Having established righteousness, then we will be able to experience from James 1: 2-4, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature & complete, not lacking anything.”

There is a saying, “Bad times have a scientific value.” They are occasions a good learner would not miss. It is in time of difficulty & stress we came to a fresh & vivid realization of our dependency on God. As our confidence evaporates, we are reminded in a dramatic way of our frailty & cry out to the Lord for His help. Psalm 34 reminded us, “The righteous cry out, & the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles.”

The challenges we are facing today produces in us humility that compels us to lift up praying hands to the Lord. We learn best the meaning of dependency on God not on the starlit way but on the shadowed way. Our Christian life is not our responsibility, but our response to God ability to help us.

This week we will focus on 3 prayer points for ourselves:

  1. Let God Love You – By letting God express His love, you are allowing God to build your self-esteem spiritually.
  2. Let God Search You – Know that God will love you no matter what you have done. By letting God search your heart, you will have the strength to face the sins and have the courage to openly deal with them. Allowing God to intervene in your affair will eliminate the torment in your thought, in your soul & in your body! Like King David, he was quick to repent and seek help. Jesus accredited him as a man that run after the heart of God. Seek the counsel from Godly people. Your miracles will soon catch up with you.
  3. Let God Show you – He will prepare you for the days ahead if you allow Him. Talk to people whom God has sent into your life, pray & discuss with them. They might just have the solution you have been seeking for your life.

Trust God and allow Christ to establish His righteousness in you, and see to it that you will be prospered in everything that you touch.
